Fidelity's FBTC, a spot bitcoin exchange-traded product, launched on 11 January 2024 on the Cboe BZX exchange. It was among the initial group of U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs to receive SEC approval. The fund tracks the price of bitcoin via the Fidelity Bitcoin Reference Rate, net of fees. Fidelity Digital Asset Services self-custodies the bitcoin held by the trust. By assets under management, FBTC ranks as one of the largest U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs.
