Overview
Binance Bitcoin (BTCB) is a tokenised version of Bitcoin native to the BNB Chain, which was previously known as Binance Chain and BSC. The token is issued by Binance and serves as a bridge asset, enabling Bitcoin to be deployed within the BNB ecosystem for decentralised finance and other uses. Each BTCB is backed by Bitcoin stored in a centralised reserve; tokens are minted when Bitcoin is deposited and burned when it is withdrawn.
