Overview

Eric Chen and Albert Chon established Injective Labs in 2018, after participating in the first Binance Labs incubation programme and a Binance hackathon. The firm developed Injective, a layer-1 blockchain built with the Cosmos SDK and Tendermint proof-of-stake consensus, which delivers instant transaction finality and is claimed to handle over 10,000 transactions per second. Its core innovation is a native exchange module that enables on-chain order book management, matching and settlement, allowing spot and derivatives markets to operate with transparent execution instead of an automated market maker. INJ serves as the native token for staking, governance and protocol fees. Chen, as CEO, oversees protocol strategy, developer tools and partnerships. In 2022, Injective Labs secured $40 million in an institutional funding round co-led by Brevan Howard Digital and Jump Capital.
