Overview

Kaia is an EVM-compatible layer-1 blockchain formed on 29 August 2024 through the merger of Klaytn, the chain built by Kakao subsidiary Ground X, and Finschia, the chain from Japan's LINE. Its distribution approach relies on these two messaging platforms: mini-dapps embedded in LINE and KakaoTalk provide access to substantial Asian consumer audiences, and the initiative has reported acquiring over one million monthly active wallets via LINE mini-dapps. The earlier tokens KLAY and FNSA were exchanged for the unified KAIA token, and the network aims for block times of approximately one second.

Within The Counterparty graph, Kaia connects to 11 tracked entities, most strongly to USD Coin, Tether USD, Dai.
