Overview
The project that began in 2020 as a zero-knowledge stack on Polkadot relaunched in 2023 as Manta Pacific, a modular Ethereum layer-2 network. It combines the OP Stack for transaction execution with Celestia for data availability, a design that provides EVM compatibility while reducing costs compared to posting all data directly to Ethereum. Developers use standard Ethereum tooling, and the network targets high-throughput, low-cost execution for ZK-heavy applications. The MANTA token is staked to secure the network, with an advertised 14.7% annual yield on manta.network as of July 2026. The project reports over 204 ecosystem projects across DeFi, SocialFi and derivatives. Ongoing work includes CeDeFi programmes and planned fast-finality features. Manta Atlantic, the project's other network, will cease operations on 1 August 2026, and users must transfer their assets to Manta Pacific.
