Franklin Crypto company
Overview
Franklin Templeton launched a digital-asset investment division called Franklin Crypto in April 2026, concurrent with a deal to buy 250 Digital, a liquid-strategies firm that emerged from CoinFund. The new unit, co-led by Christopher Perkins, Seth Ginns and Franklin Templeton's Tony Pecore, aims to broaden the firm's crypto offerings beyond passive products like its spot bitcoin ETF to include actively managed funds, separately managed accounts and tokenized instruments. Franklin Templeton has been involved with digital assets since 2018 and runs the on-chain BENJI platform, a portion of which was referenced as payment in the 250 Digital acquisition.
