Overview
The Bank for International Settlements Innovation Hub, together with a group of central banks, has launched Project Agorá. This effort examines how tokenized central bank money might be applied to wholesale cross-border payments. The work targets the creation of a platform that merges central bank reserves, tokenized deposits and tokenized securities within a programmable unified ledger. The goal is to enhance efficiency and lower settlement risks for transactions that cross borders.
