Overview
The financial commentator and stockbroker Peter David Schiff, who was born on 23 March 1963, established Euro Pacific Capital in 1996 and now oversees Schiff Gold and Euro Pacific Asset Management. He gained prominence for forecasting the 2008 financial crisis and promoting gold as a safeguard against what he considers flawed US monetary and fiscal policies. A vocal opponent of Bitcoin, Schiff has likened it to tulip mania and is one of the cryptocurrency's most notable critics. After advising Ron Paul's 2008 presidential run, Schiff mounted an unsuccessful 2010 US Senate campaign in Connecticut.
