MEV Boost product
Overview
MEV-Boost, an open-source middleware tool from Flashbots, enables Ethereum proof-of-stake validators to delegate block creation to a competitive network of specialised block builders. The software operates as a sidecar to a validator's consensus client, polling relays for the highest-value block header and allowing the validator to submit that block without prior knowledge of its contents. This architecture implements an out-of-protocol version of proposer-builder separation (PBS), aimed at preventing MEV extraction from concentrating staking among the largest, most technically advanced operators. Flashbots additionally maintains mev-boost-relay, the relay software that acts as an intermediary between builders and proposers.
