Buildernet protocol
Overview
A decentralized block-building network for Ethereum called BuilderNet went live on 26 November 2024, with Flashbots, Beaverbuild and Nethermind as its initial operators. The project addresses centralization in Ethereum block production, where a handful of entities were responsible for the vast majority of blocks. BuilderNet deploys builder instances within Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs), enabling multiple independent operators to jointly construct blocks without exposing transaction order flow. MEV revenue is distributed to contributors proportionally. The network aims to break exclusive order-flow arrangements, redistribute MEV, and enhance censorship resistance.
