Jpmorgan protocol
Overview
Kinexys is the new name for the digital-assets division of JPMorgan Chase, America's largest lender, which has operated one of the longest-running institutional blockchain programmes. The unit, previously called Onyx, was rebranded in November 2024, and its tokenised deposit payment system—once known as JPM Coin—is now Kinexys Digital Payments. The platform handles intraday repos, tokenised collateral and cross-border transfers. Since 2020 the bank has recorded cumulative transaction values in the trillions of dollars, with daily volumes reaching billions. JPMorgan has also taken part in public-sector tokenisation projects, including MAS's Project Guardian.
