Overview
The Stacks blockchain employs a consensus mechanism called Proof of Transfer (PoX). Under this system, miners bid Bitcoin to propose blocks, and the Bitcoin spent is forwarded to Stackers — STX holders who have locked their tokens. The design creates aligned incentives across the two networks without requiring any changes to Bitcoin.
