Overview

Quantoz Payments B.V., a Netherlands-based fintech registered with De Nederlandsche Bank as an electronic money institution, has launched USDQ, a US dollar stablecoin. The token is issued under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework as an e-money token, and is accompanied by a euro-denominated counterpart, EURQ. Reserves for both tokens are held at a one-to-one ratio with Tier 1 banks. USDQ is deployed on Ethereum, Polygon, Algorand, the XRP Ledger and Stellar. The firm markets the stablecoin to enterprises seeking to integrate traditional payment systems — SEPA, SWIFT and ACH — with blockchain-based settlement. Quantoz claims to be the first European-native stablecoin issuer to operate under direct supervision of the Dutch central bank.
