Overview
The Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) serves as the Dubai government body overseeing virtual assets and virtual asset service providers within the emirate, with the Dubai International Financial Centre excluded from its jurisdiction. Created in March 2022 through Law No. (4) of 2022, it operates as the first regulator worldwide exclusively focused on virtual assets. VARA establishes and enforces regulations governing the issuance, listing, and trading of virtual assets.
